Eligibility is divided into Science and Other Than Science subjects:
Science Subjects: Candidates must have passed Intermediate/10+2 with Mathematics, Physics, and English with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English, or a three-year Diploma in Engineering with 50% marks, or a two-year Vocational Course with Physics and Mathematics.

Agniveervayu will receive a monthly "Agniveer Package" with a fixed yearly increment.
1st Year: ₹30,000 monthly (₹21,000 in hand).
2nd Year: ₹33,000 monthly (₹23,100 in hand).
3rd Year: ₹36,500 monthly (₹25,550 in hand).
4th Year: ₹40,000 monthly (₹28,000 in hand).
Exit Benefit: After four years, a "Seva Nidhi" package of approximately ₹10.04 Lakhs (plus interest) will be provided.

The selection is based on merit through a three-phase process. Phase I consists of an online objective test with negative marking (0.25 marks per wrong answer). Phase II includes a Physical Fitness Test (PFT), involving a 1.6 km run, push-ups, sit-ups, and squats, followed by Adaptability Tests. Phase III involves a comprehensive Medical Examination to ensure candidates meet the IAF's physical standards.
Is there any pension for Agniveervayu after four years? There is no entitlement to gratuity or any kind of pensionary benefits under this scheme. Can female candidates apply for this intake? Yes, unmarried Indian female candidates are eligible for selection. What is the minimum height required for male candidates? The minimum acceptable height for male candidates is 152 cms.
